THIS has
been a week! I have felt so stressed and uneasy for some reason! I have felt
like I haven’t done enough. I felt like I couldn’t
make my baby happy. I have felt like I failed.
Laila has
been struggling the past few weeks. Her top two teeth FINALLY broke through on
Tuesday and it was a beautiful day! No more than 24 hours later though, she
woke up from her nap with a runny nose and slight fever. You could tell she was
back to just not feeling well.
On Thursday
I thought I was going to have a breakdown. 9 hours went by and I had a crying
baby for probably 8 of those. Nothing would make her happy and we both were
getting frustrated. I told Tyson I may not be alive by the time he got home
that day. I was ready to give up and quit.
Around
4:30pm I decided we both needed some fresh air. I bundled us up with
sweatshirts and boots and we went for a walk. It was SILENT! The neighborhood was
quiet, Laila stopped crying and I enjoyed the peace for a little while.
“Don’t give
up. Don’t you quit. You keep walking. You keep trying. There is help and
happiness ahead—a lot of it...You keep
your chin up. It will be all right in the end. Trust God and believe in good
things to come.” – Elder Jeffery R. Holland
Some days are HARD. Some weeks are HARD. And sometimes some YEARS are HARD. But I encourage all of us to remember this quote by Elder Holland. “Don’t give up. Don’t you quit.” I know that if we do our very best and keep trying, good things will come.
Thank you so much for posting this. Is that you and your daughter in the picture? I saw that picture somewhere on Pinterest about 2 years ago after going through a devastating break up. This picture + the quote gave me hope that one day I really will have a cute little family of my own, and it is worth pushing through everything I am going through right now so I can be the best wife and mother I can be. That helped me a lot then, and is helping me again today! I'm trying so hard to finally overcome years of illness and apply to BYU so I can have that experience before I do get married. It is so very hard...but we can do all things through Christ! He will prepare a way for us to do thst which is right before Him.
ReplyDeleteI love all of your posts and your blogs. I hope to be able to have a blog of my own one day so I can inspire others the way you inspire so many. I hope and pray everything works out for you and your adorable family. Thanks for sharing your light with us!
